Like so many businesses, A&A Safety started in the family garage. William J. Luttmer founded the business in Anderson Township, OH in 1982 after working for other traffic safety service businesses.

Our Family
In the beginning, the flashers and barricades were built by hand by family members and bids were written down on paper. Today William J. Luttmer’s son, William N. “Bill” Luttmer, runs the more technologically advanced business. While family contributes to all levels of the company, A&A Safety prides itself on being a great place to work and develop your career. Road to Expansion
Founded as a barricade, barrel, and flasher rental company, A&A Safety began pavement marking in 1994 along with other contracting services. Simultaneously, rental and sales inventory grew to include additional traffic devices, including message boards, portable traffic signals, variable speed limit signs, and more.
A&A Safety has expanded beyond the Tri-State area to manage projects in Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, Tennessee, North Carolina, and South Carolina. As a retailer and distributor, we continue to serve our clients in these states and across the United States.
Graphics Growth
The A&A Graphics division was created in 1992 to fabricate signs for road detours, closures, and safety use cases. The team’s capabilities quickly expanded to print large format graphics and signage for businesses and schools.

History of Service and High Standards
Starting at the very top, the team at A&A Safety sustains a commitment to serving the public. President Bill Luttmer holds multiple positions in industry associations that develop best practices, such as the Ohio Contractors Association (OCA) and the Ohio branch of American Traffic Safety Services Association (ATSSA). Like our name says, we lead with safety. Our employees are trained to use the most current industry standards for occupational safety.
